Now you can start private discussions on the forum. Here's a full breakdown of what you can do with it.

📩 Starting a Private Discussion

You can create a private discussion that is only visible to the specific people you choose. When starting one, you can add specific members by name. You can add more than two user recipients to a single private discussion.

Only the recipients you select will be able to see or participate in the discussion. Nobody else — not other members, not moderators — can read your conversation.

🔒 Privacy & Encryption

All messages in private discussions are protected with high-level encryption, similar to WhatsApp. Your messages are never stored as readable text on our servers. Instead, they're saved as something like:

"Hey, how are you doing today?" → @&#^!$%^*(#@^$!&#^@#($^

Only the people you invited can decode this back into something meaningful.

What makes our encryption especially strong is how the code works. There are no fixed rules like $ always equals A or ! always equals Q. Instead, the system generates a completely random encryption key that is unique to each individual user, and that key changes again for every separate private discussion that user is part of. So the same symbol means something different depending on who you are and which conversation you're in.

It goes even further than that — the sender and receiver use different encryption layers. So even if $=A for the person sending the message, the same symbol will be encoded differently again on the receiver's end. This means there is no single consistent pattern anywhere in the system for anyone to find and exploit.

To put that in perspective, here's an example. Take a simple 5-word message like:

"Let's meet at the café" → #^$@! %*&#^ @$ ^#& %$@#^

On average, even advanced high-reasoning AI takes 45+ hours to decode a single line like that from our system. A full conversation? Practically uncrackable.

✏️ Managing Recipients

You're not locked into your initial recipient list. Depending on your permissions, you can:

Edit user recipients — add or remove individual users from an ongoing private discussion.

🔔 Notifications

You'll always be kept in the loop. Notifications are sent via browser alert and email for the following events:

For individual user recipients:

A private discussion is started
Someone replies to a private discussion
You are added to a private discussion
A user leaves the private discussion

(More notification types are planned in future updates.)

⚙️ Other Features

Auto-Delete on Last User Leaving — a private discussion will be permanently deleted from the database once the last remaining user leaves it. If this setting is off, the discussion will instead be soft-deleted/hidden rather than permanently removed.
Real-Time Posts — New replies in private discussions appear in real time, so conversations feel instant and live.
